Live at Union Square presents another night of live original Australian music with

SKYSCRAPER STAN and THE COMMISSION FLATS: 

Skyscraper Stan and his longtime touring band and collaborators the Commission Flats have generated a body of work that has attracted a loyal, and more recently global fanbase drawn to Stan’s easy lyrical style, inventive arrangements and deft genre twists and turns.

With the Sydney Morning Herald calling him “a revelation,” his two previous albums including 2015’s Last Year’s Tune and 2019’s Golden Boy, and between them a live solo album in 2017 Live at Some Velvet Morning, shone a light on Stan’s ability to write concise and accessible narratives in a timeless style, suggesting a writer steeped in the traditions of the classics but looking to refresh that sound for the modern era. His global reach has been extended by the songs “I Fell Over” and “Always Thinking of You” featuring on the first season of the TV series Colin From Accounts, a further tune "21st Century Lullaby" will feature in season 2 of the hit show.

DAN WEST with STEVEN SKILLBECK:

Dan West is a keyboard player, performer, songwriter, and teacher of music. Most comfortable sitting at the keyboard, Dan has performed, written and recorded and with bands for several decades. In recent years Dan has begun to scratch his songwriting itch, and armed with his first batch of songs has found himself in the role of singer/songwriter. Wearing multiple musical hats, Dan can be found working in the Melbourne blues scene as a keyboard player for hire, or strumming other people’s songs in beer gardens on a Sunday afternoon, or standing on a stage with his acoustic guitar sharing his original material. Dan writes about life as a father, husband and over-thinker.
