Join us for the ENGAGE half-day Trauma Informed Care (TIC) workshop for preparedness when a disaster occurs.
Join us for our upcoming workshop where we will explore how trauma affects us and our communities. You will learn about the signs and symptoms of trauma, and the impact of trauma on our health, development, and brain functions.
You will learn about trauma informed care (TIC) - an approach that is gaining attention for its compassionate and sensitive approach to handling trauma. You will get a chance to use what you learn in real-life situations, like during natural hazard events such as flood events. We will discuss how these events challenges the health of communities and how TIC can help us and those we care for cope better during potentially traumatic events.
This workshop aims to provide you with the tools and understanding to use TIC principles every day, ensuring you offer caring and thoughtful support to yourself as well as those affected by traumatic events. Secure your place by [registration details].
We're offering this workshop to residents and workers of Noosa, Gympie and Fraser Coast local government areas, in recognition of impacts these communities have faced due to floods & severe weather.
The funding for this program is provided by Country to Coast, QLD, with support from the Australian Government through the PHN program.
Morning tea will be provided.
