Thursday Evening Pottery for Adults - Term 4, 2024 with Jenny

Join our tutor Jenny in our eight-week course building upon your previous experience using clay and hand building skills.

Whether you’re an experienced potter or a novice enamored by the medium, Jenny will guide you through this in-depth exploration of clay and sculpture.

No matter your experience level, Jenny’s expertise in pinch-pots, templates and all things hand-building will have you confidently making kiln-ready projects in no time!

Time: 6.45pm-9.15pm

Dates: Thursday 17 October to 5 December

Materials and firing fees: Course fee includes one 10kg bag of PB103 clay. All additional clay must be purchased in class.

Firing of your work will cost an additional $15 per kilogram.

Please note that, in response to increasing service delivery costs, Manningham Art Studios has increased some course prices this term.

While our prices remain competitive, we have also introduced a number of pottery courses at different prices, allowing you to select a course to suit your budget and skill level.

Our Friday open studio sessions are an ideal and affordable option for more advanced students who have completed at least one term at the studios and wish to work at their own pace and with minimal support.

Bookings are essential and numbers are strictly limited.

The minimum number of students for each class is 6, please be advised that cancellations may take place 24 hours before. We will endeavor to offer you a place in another class or alternatively offer you refund.

Class Cancellation or Substitute Teachers

Due to illness, unforeseen circumstances or where a suitable substitute is not available and a class has to be cancelled, you will be contacted via email and by SMS 30 minutes prior to the class starting. In these situations, either a class refund will be processed, or an additional class will be added to the term dates.

Extra support/Medical Conditions

Please notify staff if you or your child require extra support during classes, have a medical condition and any relevant allergies that we should be aware of.

Refund Policy

You will not receive a refund once a course has started for classes you miss for non-attendance. You may receive a refund on the following:

• A cancelled class due to tutor illness or unavailability

• You have tested positive to Covid-19

• Long term illness

• Personal reasons, such as bereavement

You will not be offered a refund in instances of conflicting scheduling on your part.

Parking

Parking is available at Manningham Council MC2 building. There are two ways you can access the building – through the Doncaster library entrance on ground level or via the elevators from the MC2 underground car park.

The library entrance may be closed after hours. In which case, please enter via the underground Carpark at MC2 and take elevator to Level 2, exit right, turn left along walkway to the art studios.

Please note: Carpark entry gate automatically closes at 8pm but has a sensor for exiting as you leave at the conclusion of your class.

Staying COVID Safe

All staff, students and visitors to Manningham Art Studios are required to comply with current COVID Safe practices and legislative requirements. If you are unwell, please stay home. We suggest you get tested for COVID-19. We request that students and visitors who have recently tested positive notify us at artstudios@manningham.vic.gov.au or by phone 03 9840 9382.
