Salvation Army Wills Days
Solicitors assist the community by donating their time to help people prepare a Simple Will. The cost for a Will is $100 per person / $150 for a couple plus an online booking fee of $0.50.
A separate Will is required for each individual attending. If circumstances require more complicated Wills, or you are wishing to have Power of Attorneys arranged, you can discuss your requirements with the solicitor.
We are also happy to give you information about leaving a gift to The Salvation Army.
Date & time
Having a Will is very important. It ensures the people who matter most in your life are taken care of. Without a Will, your estate is distributed according to a legal formula. This might mean your assets don’t end up being distributed according to your wishes.
That’s why The Salvation Army’s Wills Days are so important.
You may consider leaving a gift in your Will to The Salvation Army and help those in need.

FAQs:
How does it work?
Honoured Friend Solicitors assist the community by donating their time to help people prepare a Simple Will. A Simple Will, for example, is one that leaves the person’s entire estate to their spouse or to their children, equally, without a trust. The Solicitor will be able to advise whether your Will is simple, and if not, they can advise you and you might have to pay an additional cost to have it written.

Do I have to leave a gift (bequest) to The Salvation Army?
Most people who use this service do leave something to The Salvation Army but there is no obligation to do so. Please see how bequests change lives and change lives with a gift in your Will.
Do I need to appoint The Salvation Army as the Executor of my estate?
There is no requirement to do this, but we are happy to do so if you wish.
What is the Honoured Friend Program?
By leaving a gift in your Will to The Salvation Army you will be joining a group of like-minded individuals who, like yourself, are committed to ensuring that the kindness and compassion you have lived by will go on helping others now and in the future. You’ll have the option to leave your Will with The Salvation Army for safe-keeping.
When you let us know that you have included The Salvation Army in your Will, we would like to honour your kindness and generosity. You will be welcomed as an Honoured Friend. You will receive a special lapel pin and personal document folder in which you can store your legal papers. It’s not only a convenient way to stay organised but a small thank you from us for your thoughtful intentions.
You will also receive invitations to special functions, tours and access to many of the programs we run for the Australian community.
Our Honoured Friend Representatives are passionate about visiting and supporting people, especially those who can’t get out as much because of age or health. Find out more. You can also request to have your funeral service conducted by a Salvation Army Officer too if you wish.
Thank you for supporting the work of The Salvation Army and giving Hope where its need most.
