Skin cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer globally, yet it is often highly preventable and treatable when detected early. While trained medical practitioners are the primary professionals responsible for diagnosing skin cancer, we, as a community, can make a significant difference. Any professional who works closely with the skin is uniquely positioned to notice abnormalities that may indicate skin cancer. Everyone, from healthcare professionals, teachers, and beauticians to tattoo artists, can contribute to preventing and detecting skin cancer early.

During this session, you will learn about skin cancer research, listen to real-life experiences of individuals affected by melanoma, receive fundamental training and guidance for non-healthcare professionals to identify the early signs of skin cancer and have free access to an online course for non-medical individuals provided by the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.
